What We Believe

“What does your church believe?” is difficult one to answer for a church like Bethlehem and a denomination like the United Church of Christ (UCC). 

Within our congregation are those with vastly different theological and social/political beliefs. We prioritize service to God, one another, and our neighbors over agreement on dogma or politics.  We are curious learners who are committed to journeying with one another as we deepen our faith in Jesus Christ.  

Bethlehem takes seriously the UCC tagline: “No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.”  

Bethlehem’s Mission Statement:

Drawing upon the strengths of our heritage, our mission is to serve God by spreading the news of his love and the promise of Jesus Christ.  As faithful stewards of the gifts God has given us, we will be inclusive of all people and serve the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs and development of our church members, the wider community, and the world.  We will be stewards of our youth and future generations, providing guidance, education, and resources."
